Heavy Duty Materials
Sure, a lot of big dogs are sensitive (ours included), but they're also resilient, tough, and durable. The harnesses we use for them should be, too. This American Direct Harness is made from 500D Cordura (D stands for denier, which refers to individual fiber thickness), 1000D Ballistic Nylon, Military standard (Milspec) webbing and buckles, and EVA shock absorbent foam. All sizes of this harness also incorporate 1" webbing, which has been constructed with an extra tough closed connection.
How It's Different
Aside from the premium materials, this harness is just built different. The front pull ring system redirects your dog's pulling energy, turning them to the side as they lunge. Additionally, the harness immediately gains control of your pup's body when they are resisting, reacting, or find themselves in any other situation where they are most prone to slipping their restraint.
The specialized contraction of the American Direct harness is the secret behind giving you better control over your dog. Most harnesses are ill-fitting and don't have enough coverage over the body to truly be effective. Dogs 'swim' in their harnesses and tend to either pull off their bodies or twist and turn. The American Direct harness cinches down to your pup's body, giving them direct feedback from the leash to their body.
Why It Matters
The American Direct harness bridges the gap between prong/cinch collars and the traditional harness. Now you can get the safety and protection of a harness while limiting action directed at the neck of your pup, resulting in safer control of your pup. This harness also has a protective underside skid plate and will not inhibit your pup's gait in the way traditional 'across the bicep' harnesses will. There are also attachment points on both the back and chest (only the chest attachment point 'cinches').

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
Hand wash, do not bleach, do not tumble-dry, and do not iron. Rub the harness with your hands to eliminate the bulk of the mud/dirt, and fill a tub/sink with warm water. Add a touch of your dog’s regular use shampoo, (as you know it is safe and not harmful to their skin) and gently rub the harness to remove the dirt. Rinse under clean water and hang up in a well-ventilated space to air dry.
